Wow, how 6 years can change things. Life. Each other. Ourselves. Our love. Our life plans. Wow.
I would have told you that you were crazy if 6 years ago you said that:
I'd be trying to pursue a career in photography. I wouldn't be in vet school. I would still be living in Baton Rouge. I would eventually have awesome friends and that the friends that I did have weren't true. I'd end up liking Red Bull. You're going to gain weight...keep up those exercises.
If only I knew then what I know now. Isn't that always the case?
Don't get me wrong...I remember it and love every second of it. But there are some things that I would have done differently if I could.
- First Look: Yep, I would do it. I saw James that day just not dressed or anything. I wish we would have done pictures before the wedding. I wish we would have taken the time to enjoy the time that we had. The time in our life that we were promising to each other.
- Talk to my vendors: At some point, I remember saying...no pictures before the wedding. Well I didn't mean NONE. I should have explained myself more. I should have taken the time to explain what I meant. I love the pictures that I have but there are so many things that run through my head about what I wish we did have. If you're my bride...please, let's talk about what you want. Let's make a plan of action to get the most out of your day, your time, and me! :o)
- Of course...my colors would be navy and yellow; and the whole thing would have been super nautical. Hello...I married a sailor, I'm obsessed with anchors and the color navy blue. What was I thinking???
- I would have taken the time to eat. Everyone tells me how good the food was....and I don't remember any of it. Because I never ate. My cake, however, was super delicious and even flew to Japan for our first anniversary and was still yummy.
My wedding was everything that I dreamed of and more. I just want you to think about all the details. First look or no first look? Let's make a timeline so that the day can run as smooth as possible. Soon there will be a post on the pros of having a first look. :o)
